What is High Performance Blockchain (HPB)?
Introduction
High Performance Blockchain is a main-net, Layer 1, fully EVM compliant blockchain for decentralized applications and enterprise blockchain deployments in one interoperable, highly scalable ecosystem.
High Performance Blockchain, also often referred to by the name of its native coin HPB, is the first decentralized smart contracts platform built for the scale of global Decentralized Finance (DeFi) and global Gaming Finance (GameFi), with super-fast transaction speeds of 5,000 transactions per second (TPS) ultra-low gas fees (~$0.0001 per transaction) and an on-chain provable, per-block random number generator with 6-second transaction finality. Proof of Performance (PoP) Consensus
HPB utilizes the Proof of Performance consensus algorithm (PoP). This algorithm takes into account three key factors when choosing an HP-node: network bandwidth (50% weight), ranking of community voting (35% weight) and number of HPB coins held (15% weight). This way all nodes are incentivized to add as much performance as possible, with Dynamic Node Election generating HP-Nodes from the existing pool of Candidate Nodes every 200 blocks.
